Custom Agents for MIIS

MIIS Management Agents for UNIX
Microsoft Identity Integration Server (MIIS) 2003 enables the integration and management of identity information across multiple repositories, systems, and platforms. MIIS provides integration with a wide range of identity repositories. It enables provisioning and identity information synchronization across multiple repositories; brokering changes to identity information by automatically detecting updates and sharing the changes across systems. It enables password management.

Challenges faced by Organizations
One of the challenges faced when deploying MIIS based solution is the integration with non Microsoft Platforms like Unix. Unix especially Solaris and now Linux is the most widely deployed platforms in many enterprise. Integrating them with an enterprise wide identity management solution is an important aspect of any solution deployment.

Management Agents for Linux and Solaris by ILANTUS extends the functionality of MIIS to non Microsoft Platforms. ILANTUS professional services can customize these Management agents to support Unix platforms not supported out of the box.

Connector Overview
Management Agents link specific connected data source to MIIS. The management agent is responsible for moving data between the Connected Data Source and MIIS. When data in MIIS is modified, the management agents can also synchronize the change to the respective connected data source. Generally, there is at least one management agent for each connected application (directory, application or database). Management Agents for Solaris and Linux by ILANTUS enables an enterprise to integrate these widely deployed platforms to the MIIS Identity Management Solution and extend the Identity Management Functionality of MIIS to these platforms.
