Lotus Notes ID File Synchronization for Control-SA
Control SA provides the user a facility to change passwords using
Passport, which works in conjunction with Enterprise Security Station.
Passport provides a web-based interface to the users to change the
password. Once the password is changed via Passport, it will be updated
on all platforms where the respective user accounts exist.
Lotus Notes uses ID
Files to store the authentication credentials of a user account. These
ID Files can be detached and copied to other machines also. But Control
SA requires Lotus Notes ID Files to be stored in a central repository.
In a scenario where Lotus Notes ID Files exists on the local machines
of the respective users, the ID File on the local machine has to be
synchronized with the one on the central repository once the password
is changed.
The ID File sync
solution from ILANTUS aims to address the issue of Notes ID file
distribution to end users desktop when any changes are done to the user
attributes using CONTROL-SA. The solution is developed in Java and
consists of modules that run on the CONTROL-SA/PassPort Server,
CONTROL-SA Agent for Lotus Notes Machine and the end users desktop. The
solution when deployed will aid in automatically updating the local ID
file on the end-user's desktop with the latest ID file from the central
repository.
